Baltimore is a city on the brink. A powerful ley line runs through the center of the city, and a number of supernatural factions want to get their hands on its power. The war between the ghouls and the fae is heating up, and a few savvy mortals have come into their own. Old Man Montrose, the wizard who used to protect the city from all the things that go bump in the night, is dead, and if you believe it was of natural causes I have a lovely bridge to sell you.

The thriving tourist trade wars with gang activity in other parts of the city, and while the cultural districts and club districts are relatively upscale, urban decay dominates pockets of the city. Changelings, magic-users, faeries, vampires, shapeshifters psychics and more inhabit the city, most of whom are more than willing to fight for their little piece of it.

... and Baltimore is worth fighting for.

Torch is an RPG based on the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher, set in Baltimore. It follows the approved canon of the tabletop roleplaying games rulebooks, and takes place on a fuzzy timeline roughly before the books are set. You do not need to be familiar with the books or television show to play, but we use external resources like the Nevermore Campaign (free). We allow campaign canons. We are very plot-oriented, and permit all types of writing: from straight fiction, to tabletop-style campaigns. There is no min wordcount and profiles needn't be approved before posting. We encourage cross-posting with our Ao3 collection.

I recently started playing this online game, and when I signed up there was already a John Marcone, a Harry Dresden, a Karrin Murphy, and a Waldo Butters registered. I'm just wondering, are any of you in here?

Torch is an RPG based on the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher, set in Baltimore. It follows the approved canon of the tabletop roleplaying games rulebooks, and takes place shortly after Small Favor. We have 30 "canons" or pre-made characters, and encourage creativity in the application process. We are very plot-oriented, and have a strong reward system for roleplay and community involvement.
